Welcome to


The Northern Virginia ASHI® Chapter meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month, except July and August. Meetings are held at the Northern Virginia Resource Center (NVRC) located at 3951 Pender Drive Suite 130 in Fairfax Virginia. The office is part of the Fairfax Executive Park near the intersection of Rt 50 and I-66, and across from the NRA building off Waples Mill Road.

If you plan to inspect New Residential Construction, you are required to attend the NRS Module training class.  More classes are coming, if you haven't attended one yet, check with the DPOR site to find out about upcoming classes/approved provider (scroll down to NRS Training Module).  
If you have already taken the NRS Module - follow-up with DPOR and verify that you are properly classified as having the NRS designation. As soon as DPOR has processed your applicaton, your license will show the NRS endorsement - you can easily find your license on the DPOR website.

Board for Asbestos, Lead, and Home Inspectors; home inspections; required statement related to the presence of yellow shaded corrugated stainless steel tubing. Provides that whenever a home inspector observes the presence of any shade of yellow shaded corrugated stainless steel tubing during an inspection of a home built prior to the adoption of the construction code effective in 2008, his observation must be included in the inspection report along with the following statement: "Manufacturers believe that this product is safer if properly bonded and grounded as required by the manufacturer's installation instructions. Proper bonding and grounding of the product should be determined by a contractor licensed to perform the work in the Commonwealth of Virginia."
